Radiologist Patient Facing Dataset: Discontinued

UPDATE: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) now provides detailed information for physicians participating in MIPS – to include individual and group patient facing status – through their Quality Payment Program portal.

The Radiologist Patient Facing Dataset (RPFD) allows radiologists to determine whether they would have been designated as “patient facing” for the purpose of Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) participation. More information on radiologist participation in MIPS can be found here.

This dataset was produced using the publicly available Physician and Other Supplier Public Use File which contain 100 percent of all Medicare fee-for-services (FFS) performed and aggregated by CPT code and individual physician.  The RPFD contains each physician reported as either a Diagnostic Radiologist, Interventional Radiologist, or Nuclear Medicine specialty in the Physician and Other Supplier data sorted alphabetically by last name.

Radiologists can use this dataset to look up their names and other radiologists in their practice to see whether they would have been designated as a patient facing physician, their total CMS FFS procedures, total CMS patient facing procedures, and percent of procedures classified as patient facing for each year between 2012-2015.
